History

Founded in 1995, Try Sports is the fastest growing sports marketing company in the country, with a team of top professionals, offering personalized and premier treatment, to the benefit of each of their customers and events.

Try Sports is leaded by ex-ATP pros, Danilo Marcelino and Nelson Aerts, and in its first decade, made 116 top class events, throughout Brazil, for professionals, juniors, seniors amateurs, men and women’s tennis players.

Besides having a broad experience in tennis events promotion and ownership, with its modern structure, Try Sports has diversified its business, promoting also International Tennis Meetings, with world wide reknown coaches and has even operated in different sports, such as Golf and Squash.


Our Mission

Try Sports’ mission is to plan, organize and manage high quality sports events, according to the individual needs of each of one of our customers, working side by side to also develop the sport in Brazil.

With our experience as touring pros, we can work for the athletes well being and also make our sponsors have a memorable experience, uniting competition and leisure, always looking forward to delivering the best return to the investment our partners have made.

Based on this philosophy we have been able to strenghten in the amateurs a desire of a living a healthy life, through the sport, while also contributing to the growth and establishment of young athletes, in the national and international prospect.

Biographies

Nelson Aerts

Born on April 25th, 1963, in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul, Nelson Aerts had a long career in the pro circuit, playing professional tennis for more than 20 years. He reached a career high ranking of 109 in singles and 80 in doubles in the ATP. A Brazilian Davis Cup player, Aerts also represented the country in other international competitions, having won the Gold Medal in the 1991 Pan American Games, in Cuba. He played for the North Western State University of Louisianna and in Brazil graduated from Journalism college, at PUC, using his writers skills as the owner of Tennis View magazine. Aerts also served as a coach, having coached André Sa, among others and nowadays also hás a role in the Instituto Tênis, at the board.

Danilo Marcelino

Born on March 8th 1966, in the north of Brazil, in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Danilo Marcelino is one of Brazil’s top tennis players, having reached a career high ranking of 91 in singles and 73 in doubles, in the ATP A Davis Cup player, Marcelino had his best moments on the tour in 1990, when he reached the doubles final at the Rome Masters Series, losing the title, with Mauro Menezes, to Pete Sampras and Jim Courier. Before becoming a full time promoter and dedicating all of his time to Try Sports, Marcelino directed a tennis academy in São Paulo and was a Fed Cup captain for Brazil.
